As our laptops become smaller and smaller, the accessories have to keep up, but it’s not always easy to go down a size when there is nothing to trim. It’s not uncommon for people to have an extra mouse, simply because of the feel of a mouse still beats touchpads, but there is hesitation since mobile mice are often harder to use due to their mere sizes. Microsoft has now launched a mouse that hopes to remedy this, Microsoft Arc Mouse.
When used it will feel like a regular-sized desktop mouse, but when you pack it up, it will fold and become much smaller than a regular mouse.
“The revolutionary design of the Arc™ Mouse combines the comfort of a desktop mouse and the portability of a notebook mouse. Arc Mouse folds to 60% of its fully expanded size when you’re on the go.”
The mouse uses 2.4GHz wireless technology and the minimal USB transmitter can be attached to the mouse when it’s not needed. Arc Mouse uses laser optics and will be available in two different colors, black and red. The price is about $60 in stores.
MaximumPC has published a short “hands-on” preview of Microsoft’s new mobile mus.
