Windows 7 is moving forward rapidly and we can guarantee you that there is a lot to like in the new operating system. It is still just a beta though and there are bugs, as there should be with such an early version of an operating system. Last we heard Microsoft’s first Release Candidate (RC) of Windows 7 would appear on April 10th. It seems the date has been pushed back a bit and that an internal RC, also known as escrow, would be made available to selected beta testers before the end of April.
“An Escrow Build is a build where development halts and developers & beta testers start testing the product for any show-stopper bugs. Microsoft always emphasizes this to testers to concentrate only on the regressions and confirmation of fixes when asking for feedback on escrow builds.” – Neowin
The mortals will have to wait further as the official RC of Windows 7 is not expected until the end of May. Together with Windows Server 2008 R2.
The information spawns from Russian site Wzor and even if the schedule may be correct there is nothing that says that Microsoft won’t move the launch date back or forth. The latest beta build is 7061 (the official beta was build 7000) and rumors are going around that this version will be or even is available for download at filesharing sites.
