NVIDIA still hasn’t launched its first graphics circuits with 40nm technology. That TSMC, which is responsible for making both AMD’s and NVIDIA’s 40nm chips, is having problems with its new process have raised questions surrounding NVIDIA’s coming 40nm products. The first light appeared recently when NVIDIA completed the tape out of the GT300 graphics processor. This means that it has successfully manufactured the first fully functioning chips. The next good news has now surfaced.

The graphics card maker has increased its 40nm orders at TSMC for 2009 and it is now counting to have up to 30% of all shipped products on the 40nm node before the end of 2009.

Not surprisingly NVIDIA has also standing in line for when TSMC will release its 28nm technology. The first tests at the 28nm node will go off in the first quarter of 2010.
