Intel’s fist six-core Nehalem processor, also known by the code name Gulftown, is slated for the first half of 2010. The processor is a product of Intel’s new 32nm technology and have made appearances through benchmarks bur rarely posed in front of the camera. The processor couldn’t hold it any longer but decided to show it all, well nearly.
Like other LGA1366 processors there are no oddities with the physical design but on the bottom of the CPU we see many new resistors, compared to Intel’s Core i7 family with four cores. Rumors are going around that Gulftown could launch as Core i9, but roadmaps have sooner stated Core i7. Nothing is entirely certain.
Gulftown looks like a pretty mature processor and most likely Intel could launch its first hexa-core desktop processor sooner than planned, but there is no reason to rush it.
