Intel is in a comfortable seat on the SSD market with its second generation SSD made with 34 nanometer technology. It’s biggest problem, after solving the problems with its firmware update, is that it can’t meet the public demand. Something it won’t be able to do until February 2010. In Q2 2010 Intel’s will release its next performance upgrade, but before the end of 2010/2011 it will also revise the storage capacity.

New information suggests that Intel may launch a solid state drive sporting 600GB capacity by the end of 2010. A unit that will use even more efficient manufacturing technology, probably at the 28 nanometer node.
