There is still a month to go before the launch of the dual-core Ivy Bridge processors, but Samsung doesn’t seem to care. The new Series 9 NP900X4C is an ultrabook at 15″ with the new Core i5-3317U processor.
The next generation ultrabooks and dual-core Ivy Bridge processors are expected to become official until June 5th, and it is here Ivy Bridge will really shine. Samsung apparently couldn’t wait since it already lists the next generation ultrabook at its British website.

NP900X4C is part of the Samsungs Series 9 and has a 15.6″ screen with the decent resolution 1600 x 900 px. The processor is Core i5-3317U with two cores clocked at 1.7 GHz with Turbo up to 2.6 GHz, and HyperThreading. We also see Intel’s new HD 4000 graphics and 8 GB 1 600 MHz RAM. We also find a 128GB SSD.
We find three USB ports (two USB 3.0), micro-HDMI, 4-i-1 card reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC) and finally two 3.5 mm ports for audio in/out. There is also 802.11 b/g/n with Intel WiDI and Bluetooth 4.0. The computer measures 356.9 x 237 mm and has a profile of impressive 14.9 mm, even though it has a battery specified to 62 watt hours, and the keyboard is backlit. The weight is relatively high at 1.65 kg, but with other specifications and the battery in mind it comes as no surprise.
Samsung has not shared any pricing yet, but we expect NP900X4C to cost above $1,000. The computer has been announced, but the shipping will start in early June.
