AMD is now cutting prices of the Radeon HD 7000 series, as a result of the launch of HD 7970 GHz Edition. Besides lower prices free games will be added when purchasing the performance range cards for a certain amount of time.
Those who are looking for a new graphics card might want to check out the Radeon 7800 series now that prices have been dropped. Officially Radeon HD 7970, HD 7950 and HD 7870 GHz Edition will all be reduced by 50 dollar. besides the lower prices HD 7970 and HD 7950 are part of the campaing “Three-for-Free”, where you get a coupon worth 100 dollar for shopping DirectX 11 games for. With HD 7870 GHz Edition you also get a copy of DiRT Showdown worth 50 dollar. The free games are part of a limited campaign.

Besides the official prices cuts it is likely that the cheapest models HD 7850, HD 7770 and HD 7750 will all be adjusted by 10 to 20 dollar. This is not yet official, but considering Nvidia’s absence in the lower price segments AMd don’t really need to adjust the prices there.
AMD adds at the end of the press release that the entire HD 7000 series will enjoy performance boosts in games with the latest AMD Catalyst 12.7 drivers. The card will get a boost in Skyrim and Batman Arkham City with up to 30 percent, and 15 percent in Shogun 2 using the new drivers.
