New Zealand is the code name of AMD Radeon HD 7990 with dual graphics circuits, which is delayed indeterminably. Powercolor is coming out with a tailored graphics card based on two Tahiti XT circuits, which are found in HD 7970 and now the frequencies have been detailed.

It was not long ago that Radeon HD 7990 was about to launcm but just before AMD was about to contact the media the card was pulled back. The altest rumors say AMD has decided to redesign the card for better power distribution across the two circuits, by using four 6-pin PCI Express connectors – two pwer graphics circuit.

Those who are not interested in Geforce GTX 690 or can’t wait for AMD’s official version, Powercolor has a similar card coming. Fudzilla reports that Devil 13 that appeared just before Computex will launch in the coming weeks. The coolers and circuit board has been redesigned since the first pictures, but we still expect the card to occupy three expansion slots for better cooling.

The clock frequencies has now been detailed, unconfirmed though. The card sports 6 GB GGDR5 memory (3 GB per chip) clocked at 1375 MHz (5500 MHz effectively) while both graphics circuits spin on at 925 MHz, which will result in the same specifications as two HD 7970 in Crossfire. The graphics card also sports two BIOS chips, where one will have a stock frequency at 1000 MHz.

Devil 13 is a custom HD 7990, even though AMD has not launched its model yet. We find it likely that Powercolor’s version will be marketed as HD 7970X2. The launch is slated for the coming weeks, no price is available today, but we expect it to be on par with GTX 690.
