Google is seen all over the web nowadays and fantastic numbers of software services it supplies gets more and more all the time. Those who thought that these services was easy to power should perhaps reconsider. David Girourard, general manager at Google’s enterprise department, recently made a statement about the company’s alarmingly fast growing use of computing power and storage space.

“During his keynote at the Interop show here this week, Girouard explained that the firm blows through “an incredible amount” of computing power, disk space, and bandwidth. The exec noted that the firm has “concerns about the future in all these respects.”

Google Earth is one of the big “problems” here as it consumes loads of power and bandwidth. How Google will tackle these problems is uncertain however, but it is expected to spend about 800 million dollars during 2005 for computer equipment and new space to increase and handle its growing services.
