Google has for long relied on Intel’s processor platforms to power its servers, but now an analyst from Morgan Stanley states that Google will most likely pick AMD based servers sometime soon. If this is correct the next board meeting will be a wild one as Intel’s VP Paul Otellini has a place there. AMD managed to acquire over 20% of the processor market last quarter, something that hasn’t happened in many years and managing to acquire Google as a customer on the server market would’ve been a real nice way to improve its market shares.
