Acer to release 19mm notebook soon

Apple MacBoook Air set the bar in 2008 and since then the market has moved toward thinner and thinner notebooks. So far Dell is in the lead with Dell Adamo XPS, that measures just 9,99mm in profile. Rival Acer has stepped up and attempt to break records of its own. Acer revealed its plans a while back, and according to CENS it is working on a notebook measuring 19mm in profile, just like MacBook Air.

We know that the computer will be built on Intel’s Calpella platform. We’re counting on an energy efficient ULV processor, but the exact model and detailed specifications are hard to find, as is the exact launch date.

More thin notebooks sounds good to us though and hopefully the trend continues and prices will come down a bit.
