With GTX 660 Ti Nvidia is back in the game in the lower performance segment. The launch of the new graphics card has once again forced AMD to lower prices, this time on Radeon HD 7850, HD 7870 GHz Edition and just refreshed HD 7950.
Geforce GTX 660 Ti turned out to be a very affordable card that had a good ratio of price and performance in relation to both HD 7870 GHz Edition and HD 7950. As a result AMD counters with lower prices on both graphics cards, and just for the fun of it HD 7850 too.
| New prices | Former prices | Price at launch | |
| HD 7950 w/ Boost |
$319 | $349 | $449 |
| HD 7870 GHz Edition | $249 | $299 | $349 |
| HD 7850 | $209 | $249 | $249 |
HD 7950 was recently updated with higher clock frequencies but will still be reduced by 30 dollar. HD 7870 GHz Edition will go down from 299 to 249 dollar, which is the same price as HD 7850 was at before. HD 7850 will get its first price cut and go down from 249 to 209 dollar.
We don’t know how these cuts will be reflected in stores, but we have already seen prices drop on HD 7870 GHz Edition and HD 7850. The new prices should take effect any day now.
