På DigiTimes har man rapporterat om Apples fabrikspartners för deras nylanserade produkter Mac mini och iPod Shuffle.
Enligt DigiTimes har Apple vänt sig till Foxconn Electronics för tillverkningen av Mac mini som ska finnas tillgänglig på marknaden den 22 januari.
“Foxconn is expected to ship at least 100,000 Mac mini computers per month to Apple, the sources noted. The unit will be available January 22, sources at Apple said at the annual MacWorld conference held in San Francisco this week.”
Samtidigt har man valt ASUStek som partner för tillverkningen av den nya flashbaserade MP3-spelaren iPod Shuffle. Och med de tillverkningsuppgifter man fått verkar Apple tro på god försäljning av den nya spelaren.
“Shipments of the iPod shuffle from Asustek, which currently also produces iBook notebooks for Apple, are expected to reach 400,000 to 500,000 units a month, due to the aggressive pricing for the new products and brand recognition for Apples iPod music players, the sources said. Sales of the iPod reached 4.5 million units in the fourth quarter of 2004, according to data released by Apple.”
Med andra ord kan vi se iPod Shuffle som en ASUS-produkt, i alla fall om vi verkligen försöker.
Att ASUS blev Apples val för tillverkningen av iPod Shuffle är dock ingen överraskning då man redan i nuläget förser Apple med iBook notebooks, man kommer även börja tillverkare Apples kommande iBook G5 notebooks under andra kvartalet 2005.
