R600 will according to the information that has appeared be a real monster of a graphics circuit. The first PC graphics circuit with a unified shader architecture will consume loads of power and thus dissipate loads of heat. Some rumors claim that it will be the most power consuming graphics circuit ever, which sounds far from appealing. ATI has been critized earlier for its high-end graphics card coolers, although they are effective, but also very loud during load. This in combination with the hottest graphcis circuit ever (?) makes us quite nervous. But ATI seems to be fully aware of the situation and according to The Inquirer ATI is working on a completely new graphics card cooler for the new flagship. A necessity, more or less, if the previous information about R600 is correct, but so far there are no details about how the new cooler will look like, or function for that matter.
