The launch of Trinity for desktops is not expected to happen until late this Summer, but that has not stopped ECS from uncovering the first motherboard with Socket FM2 – A85F2-A Deluxe. It also reveals details on the coming chipset A85.
Trinity has already launched for notebooks, but it won’t be until August when the new architecture will appear in desktops. We know that there will be support for the older chipsets A75 and A55 from AMD, but ECS claims for the first time that A85 actually exists. ECS Black Series A85F2-A Deluxe is a regular ATX motherboard sporting the new chipset and supports up to 32 GB DDR3 memory in two channels, with a clock frequency up to 2,600 MHz when overclocking.
The motherboard has Socket FM2, which will be a change from FM1 for Llano. The resons for this is that Trinity supports up to three video outputs for EyeFinity. Also the power feed for the processor has been revised, since Trinity now supports automatic overclocking with Turbo Core 3.0 for the integrated graphics processor. This means Trinity is not compatible with older FM1 motherboards, while Llano will not work with the new FM2 motherboards.
Looking at the connectivity we find seven SATA 6.0 Gbps ports and one eSATA on the back. Besides supporting up to eigth SATA 6.0 Gbps drives it supports RAID 0,1,5,10, unlike previous chipsets from AMD that has only supported RAID 0,1,10. Other than that we can gather much more from the motherboard, but we have compiled what we do know about the new AMd chipset below.

On the back we find six USB ports, (four being USB 3.0), one Ethernet port and finally the audio plugins for the HD audio, and one optical S/PDIF. Seen to the video outputs we find most of the more common standards; VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. The price was not mentioned in the report.
