The next graphics architecture from NVIDIA has been code-named Fermi and it has already shown its new GF100 cards on Twitter and other festivities. The 3 billion transistor graphics circuit is expected to appear early next year. Even if NVIDIA was reluctant to reveal any details in the interview with Turkish hardware site DonanimHaber it does say that Fermi, according to internal testing, was will be the fastest GPU in all segments.
The video interview with Luciano Alibrandi, Director of PR at NVIDIA, can be found at DonanimHaber, comments on performance.
– We just expect this [Fermi] to be the fastest GPU in every single segment. Our performance numbers that we have done internally shows that, so we’re pretty much happy about this, says Luciano Alibrandi
Luciano continues to discuss the drivers and says that it is working hard to make sure the drivers are perfect for both gaming and workstations.
As usual NVIDIA dodges all questions on when Fermi and GF100 will launch, but at CES next month we may see some glimpses of the coming architectures.
