Nvidia sneaks out another graphics card, but this time it is an OEM exclusive model. It is based on the GK104 GPU, but now with more CUDA cores turned off than before.
Nvidia launched GTX 660 Ti just recently and put even more pressure on AMD. The latest graphics is called GTX 660 (OEM) and just as the name implies this is a card to be sold in prebuilt systems. It does have specifications that would fit well in retail too.

It is once again a GK104-based circuits, this time with two SMX units deactivated for a total of 1152 CUDA cores and 96 texture units. The memory bus is at 192-bit, like GTX 660 Ti, which results in 24 ROPs. Also the clock frequencies have been turned down and for the first time we see a graphics card in the GTX 600 series with a memory frequencu below 6 000 MHz. The reduced specifications lowers the TDP to 130 watt and can therefore run with a single 6-pin PCI Express connector.
The card is intended only for OEMs, but there are rumors it might appear in retail too. Judging from the specifications it would compete with both HD 7850 and HD 7870 GHz Edition. It might appear in retail in the future, but right now there are no guarantees it will .
