Google and Firefox has been partners for long where Google among others has employed a number of the brower’s developers and the companies’ softwares has created a strong bond between the two. Mozilla Corp. gets the larger portion of its income from a search service cooperation with Google and Google Toolbar is a tool that Firefox is happy to boast. Now Google has started to advertize Firefox with Google Toolbar at its own homepage, just one day after that the reports about the ad at Google.com appeared the ads disapppeared. But according to Betanews there was an advert, which was only visible to Internet Explorer users, with a download link to Firefox with Google Toolbar. If this is something Google will continue with is uncertain, but we’ve seen worse advetizing spots and considering Microsoft’s progress with IE7 this may very well be what Firefox needs.
