Toshiba Digital Media Networks and its VP Hisashi Yamada has during DVD Forum Japan Conference 2005 said that region codes for DVD-movies is just an obstacle. Toshiba presented a number of opinions about region codes, alas they weren’t exactly greeted by the rest with arms wide open. Whether we will see DVD-movies with region codes or not remains to see as we haven’t seen a final statement yet, but it would indeed open up the market considerably. Interesting to us consumers, but most likely something the movie companies won’t approve of. Source: TheInquirer
