We earlier reported about how both Intel and Microsoft will support HD DVD as the next generation optical format. They listed a number of points on why they chose to support HD DVD insteda of the competing format Blu-ray. HP, who supports Blu-ray, has via Josh Peterson, director of strategic alliances for HP’s Optical Storage Solutions group, has stated that MS and intel is spreading misleading information about Blu-ray, among others that HD DVD would have superior storage capacity, but he also says that the two companies choice won’t affect the outcome the least as none of them actually produces anything that uses HD DVD.
