Intel is currently finalizing the next mobile platform, code-named Montevina. Intel has launched four mobile platform since the start of the Centrino projects, and is said to continue down the same road, but it will make it easier to separate the new platform from the older ones. Montevina will namely become Centrino 2, simply not to confuse customers, which they did with both Napa and Santa Rosa, as they both re-used the old Centrino name. The Centrino 2 platform is expected to be released at Computex in Taipei, together with six new mobile 45nm processors.

In the third quarter, Intel will launch an additional seven 45nm SSF processors for the mobile segment. These processors are closely related to the one Apple has in MacBook Air and are intended for ultraportable notebooks.
