It is still being debated how good Windows Vista really is and if the launch really was such a big success. Now matter you look at it, Microsoft can’t be pleased with how the business market has received the operating system. Many major companies chose to wait for Service Pack 1. Intel was one of the companies that made it clear that it would not upgrade before the first service pack was released. Even though Vista SP1 was released long ago, Intel still hasn’t transitioned to Microsoft’s latest OS and according to sources inside Intel, Vista has only been installed in selected departments.

With more than 80,000 employees, Intel has “a number” if computers that could be upgraded to Windows Vista, but the cost could not be justified. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Windows Vista is a poor operating system, but it does show that not even Intel, which a cutting edge player pushing technology forward, can see how Vista would improve things over Windows XP today.
