Intel has presented a whole lot of new products and technologies for the mobile market during Intel Developer Forum in Taipei. Information on a new technology that could help system builders to design even thinner and cooler notebooks has surfaced. It’s no secret that the really thin laptops, where there is very little room for cooling, can reach almost disturbingly high temperatures. Intel has done some research on the topic and come up with something that resembles a technology used by jet engines.

In short, Intel wants to use air streams with different layers to cool the case, thus laminar airflow. This should result in overall lower temperatures and keep the temperatures of the case at bay, which in turn enables even smaller notebooks.

Intel says that it is already licensing the technology to customers and we are really curious to see what this could lead to. We wouldn’t say no to slimmer and cooler laptops while performance battery time remains the same.
