R600 still has a few months left until the final unveiling in January/February of 2007 and the exact specifications will have to wait for some time, simple because ATI self hardly knows entirelly for sure. Despite the fact that it is using a whole new, for PCs, unified shader architecture it seems ATI will be able to raise the frequencies quite a lot. The Inquirer claims that R600 will most likely be clocked over 700MHz through the use of 80nm technology and considering its complexity it’s not as obvious as some may think. R600 will use 64 unified shader processors and should offer some real nice performance, especially with DX10 applications. But as always, performance comes at a price.
