Samsung has announced that its DDR3 SO-DIMM modules have been validated by Intel. The modules operate at 800MHz and 1066MHz, and the chips were process at 60nm. The modules will be used by the upcoming Centrino 2 platform, also known as Montevina, Intel is preparing to launch in Q3. Samsung says it has prepared a whole line-up of DDR3 SO-DIMM modules for the new mobile platform, which brings full support for Intel’s mobile 45nm processors.
“We are pleased that our DDR3 SODIMMs have been validated by Intel for use with the Mobile Intel 45 Express Chipset family,” said Kevin Lee, VP of technical marketing. “Samsung has been the leading force behind DDR3’s development, and we’re now gearing up to meet the market demand anticipated after introduction of the Intel Centrino 2 processor technology.”
