ATI will launch its first DirectX 10-capable graphics card in R600 at the start of next year. Further up ahead ATI will also launch mid-range and low-end cards where RV600 will be the foundation. According to The Inquirer, RV600 will be a foundation of unified shaders with support for DirectX 10. In other terms, it seems that ATI will not go back to a separate shader architecture pre-R600. The first products based on RV600 will not appear until the first or second quarter of 2007 so we should be able to expect quite a few more reports about ATI’s plans until then.
