Toshiba HD-A1 is the first HD DVD player to arrive in public, the player has been available in Japan since the end of March. Even though it was later than first planned the player has reached North America and a member from AVS Forum chose to invest in the new player when it appeared at Best Buy. The total cost was 578.73 dollar and this without any HD DVD material available. Ron-P started a thread at AVS Forum on April 14 to tell people about his purchase and four days later the thread has reached 50 pages and really show what kind of interest there is in HD DVD and the new blue laser formats as tons of HD-A1 owners have stepped forward. Now we just need some movies to really be able to use the players.
