It hardly looks like the most convenient solution but when it comes to the function it seems to work just fine. We’re a bit curious however on how you get the system to fit in a regular chassi. The chipsetmanufacturer ULi is starting to get some space on the market and its new M1695 chipset for AMD’s K8-series has shown some impressive performance and overclockingpotential. At OCWorkbench where they’ve earlier displayed a ULi-based mainboard running a processorbus at 400MHz they’ve now taken a closer look at the chipset’s SLI-support. What makes this extra interesting is that there is only one PCIe x16 slot on the mainboard. Despite this ULi M1695 allows for two graphic cards to run at x8-speeds in a SLI-configuration. The guys at OC Workshop has tested how this is done and how it performs.
