AMD has, as promised, launched the last set of Catalyst drivers for this year. As earlier reported AMD has focused a lot on GPGPU features with Catalyst 8.12 and ATI’s Stream support has now been activated, which together with ATI AVIVO Video Converter will enable owners of HD 4600/ HD 4800 graphics cards to use the parallel power of AMD’s GPUs for better performance when transcoding. At the same time AMD has optimized the 3D performance and there are numerous big titles that will see great improvements with Catalyst 8.12, especially with AMD’s last generation graphics circuits.
