AMD had a rough rumble with NVIDIA, considering performance, when it announced Radeon HD 4890 earlier this week. But unlike GeForce GTX 275 AMD didn’t just send out a few reference cards to the media but actually had hoards of cards ready for sale from a variety of partners. It has been said that AMD has shipped over 50,000 cards already and many enthusiasts have already acquired one, before GeForce GTX 275 hs even appeared. So far it looks like all manufactures have used AMD’s reference design with both card and coolers. But we have it confirmed that several, among them ASUS, is working on cards with tweaked designs.
